CPR drill down in Deltek Cobra. Sometimes there are small issues when using Deltek Cobra that you think must have a simple solution to them. But, for some reason, you may not have come across that solution yet.
You may ask other Deltek Cobra super users that you know and get the response; “I’ve been wondering that too”.
Well, I came across one of these recently. Something that’s been bugging me for a while, as I knew there should be a simple solution. And guess what? There was a simple solution, which I thought I would share with folks.
Like many other users of Deltek Cobra, when I work on a client’s site, they often want to bespoke their CPR1 report so that it uses their corporate colors and formats as well as the ability to drill down to lower levels of the CPR.
Below is an example of a client’s CPR1 report that goes down to a fixed 2 levels.
When you run this report without changing any other Excel options, it will return the following.
The issue here, and it had been bugging me for ages, is why is the summary line below the line and not next to the line it relates to? There must be a way to change this. And sure enough, here’s how you do it.
In the template; go to data tab and locate the Outline box.
In the bottom right hand corner there is small arrow facing to the bottom right.
Click on this to bring up outline dialog box. This shows that the box against “Summary rows below detail” is checked. This is the default option in Excel.
Click on the box to turn off this option and click on OK.
Save the template and run your report as usual. Now the summary option will be against the right line.
Simple I know. But this was a small quirk that had been bugging me and I thought I’d share with everyone as I’m probably not alone.
