Gareth Ellis has never been one to take a backwards step and he certainly didn’t when confronted by the Wealdstone Raider.

The football fan, who went viral in 2013 for arguing with an opposing supporter during a non-league match, has been used to help promote the clash between the Grant Millington All Stars and Wakefield All Stars on Wednesday, October 20, at Belle Vue.

In the video, the Wealdstone Raider can be seen picking on Hull FC assistant coach Ellis and former Wakefield, Huddersfield and Castleford forward Steve Snitch, before the pair lift him up and carry him into the distance.

Millington’s time in the Super League has to come to an end and after spending 10 seasons with Castleford, he’ll soon be moving back home to Australia to begin life after rugby.

Before he returns down under, though, the All Stars clash has been set up in his honour.

A host of Millington’s former Castleford team-mates have reunited for the game, with Matt Cook, Jake Webster, Ryan Hudson, Rangi Chase and Danny Orr all set to be in action, while Wayne Godwin, Graham Steadman are among those set to take to the field, too.

Ellis and Snitch will be lining up for Wakefield, alongside the likes of Ben Westwood, Waine Pryce and Paul Handforth among others.

The game kicks off at 7.15 and tickets are available for £10 with under 12s going free.
