Horsepower and green thumbs meets justice and flip-flops.

I’m a late bloomer.
A geek, an introvert, an enigma, and a watchdog.

My name is Paco.
I’m determined enough to bide my time, yet too clever to pass up on opportunity.

I’m a steadfast rebel.
An outcast, a defender, a hothead, and an eccentric.

My name is Mel.
I’m resolute enough to carve my own way, but not too blind to see a better path.

We are established loners—each limited by the boundaries we set—but when a young boy’s life hangs in the balance, we discover we have more in common than we thought.

I seriously love this world this series is set in. This will probably be an unpopular opinion, but I adore that this MC club is family friendly. It has that brotherly loyalty that you see in biker gangs, but they stay away from illegal activity, and they actually have a very noble cause. They rescue homeless and abused boys from the streets. It's their latest foster that brings danger to Mel, the club's lawyer. 6 year old Mason will just melt your heart. Mel and Paco will melt it even more when they steps up for the boy. It's a romance that involves an unconventional family that not only encompasses our main characters but all the brothers in the club and their woman. I adored Edge of Reality and want more, more and more.

I have been waiting for Paco’s book. And I just knew Mel was going to give him a run for his money or maybe it was the other way around.
Mel is a strongly fierce independent woman who knows who she is and what she wants. I love that about her so much, she kicks ass and takes names. What you see is what you get with her and Paco definitely liked what he saw.
Paco is so much more than meets the eye and has open mouth insert foot syndrome on occasion, but finally got it together after biding his time waiting from Mel.
This book has everything you expect from Freya, Romance, suspense, friendship and family and then some. I am always surprised and found myself turning page after page.
I think this book is now one of my favorites in the series. Definitely a five star read for me.

I loved this book. Mel was so grumpy sometimes, loved that and was independent, she tried to resist Paco at first but of course she couldn't. Paco was all alpha male, I love this man in the arrow's edge mc, they are so possessive and protective of the woman they set their sights on and anyone they consider family, i adore that. They were sk good together, they really complemented each other and managed to form a family amidst everything. I can't freaking wait for Wapi and Lindsey's book

Another amazing story by the queen of mature romance!

I’ve been waiting for this book with high expectations and Mel and Paco lived up to what I wanted for them. I was a bit worried that Mel might be a hard case to break for Paco but that wasn’t the case, at all. She’s a tough heroine but she’s also got a soft heart and watching her with Paco and then Mason won me over without hesitation.

Paco was wonderful. He was protective and sensitive, always wanting what both Mel and Mason needed. If he hadn’t already been a top hero, the scenes where he is interacting with Mason and Mason and Mel together made my insides turn to gooey softness. I love when children are portrayed with so much reality, but add a hulking hero and I’m all in!

The relationship here did not have any drama, but rather outside forces stirred things up for this couple as well as those around them. With a high level of suspense at times, a little humor throughout and plenty of steam, I was completely enthralled.

Another great read that will keep you entertained, on the edge of your seat, heat and a remarkable little boy. Paco and Mel are in their late 40's. Mel was married young and has a daughter and Paco has never been married or had kids. She's a lawyer and her daughter works with her in her office. When trouble comes calling from one of her previous clients and causes havoc, Paco and the guys have their back. There's a HEA, but I wish the ending of the epilogue had finished out. I have loved every book in Freya Barker's Arrow's Edge MC series and this one is no exception...except this one, Edge of Reality, in my opinion, is just a little bit MORE!!! Of course, Ms. Barker's unique and compelling writing style, along with the stunning and captivating storyline, makes Edge of Reality an unputdownable MUST READ....but, for me, this story hit a little deeper than any of the others in this series! Paco is one of the reformed playboys of the MC, is quiet and observant and has had his eye on Mel for years (which makes him extremely patient as well!) Mel is a feisty, take-no-prisoners kind of woman (who also has a soft and gentle heart) and she's the family lawyer for the club when it comes to the young boys they foster and nurture, some of whom have been exposed to life's most dark and heinous acts. Mason is one of those boys and in his traumatized state, he captures EVERYONE'S heart!

When some frightening things start happening to Mel at her law office and at home, Paco takes matters in hand and stands to protect the woman who he has been attracted to for too long! This AMAZING and CAPTIVATING story is filled with family, mystery, suspense, drama, steamy sexy times, and characters that wrap around your heart and soul...all of which are trademark Freya Barker!

Once again, Freya Barker does NOT disappoint when it comes to giving her readers EXACTLY what they didn't know they needed with Edge of Reality! And I, for one, can't WAIT for the next one!

Paco was quite sneaky in his pursuit of Mel. He seemed to bide his time and then when the time was right he struck and managed to get his girl. Of course it helped that he had Mel's daughter on his side and needed the Mel's help with a little boy who was in trouble, all things that drew Mel in.

Mason, was the cutest, my heart broke for him with what he had been through, but he was found by the right people at Arrow's Edge. The guys and everyone else were perfect for Mason to be around. And when danger came calling against Mason and he had to go into hiding a bit, Paco made sure to work that to his advantage to have Mason at his house and let Mel know how much he needed her help. The cute dog didn't hurt either. Things did get crazy for a bit, but through it all Mel and Paco had a united front for Mason and everyone else that was coming after them. Despite some close calls in the end the bad guys were found and our crew was safe.

I really liked the ending, loved the new family celebrating in a perfect way!

Mel and Paco Finally!!
This one has been a long time coming. Mel is ruff and gruff and take no crap woman.

“You know, my mother may be a little rough around the edges but she has a good heart.” “I’m sure she does,” I agree, unsure what that has to do with the price of eggs. “I’ve seen how you look at her. I hope you’re not the kind of guy who lets a little outburst like earlier scare you off.”

Paco has been being patient for a long time. He finally takes his chance.

“Not gonna lie and tell you I’m not interested, but you’re reading me wrong if you think your mother’s strong personality is gonna scare me off.

There are a lot of suspenseful moments that just add to the whole story. Mason was so precious and I felt so bad about what happened to him. This was just another wonderful edition to one of my favorite series.

Wapi and Lindsey are hopefully gonna get there own story.

This is the story of Mel, the hard lawyer who works for the MC. And Paco. We´ve known both of them from previous books (you really don´t need to read the former MC´s books from Freya to read this one, although they are such amazing books, I highly recommend it). AND AGAIN, as Freya´s writing does every time, we are surprised by the intensity and depth of her characters. The plot is amazing and (as always), very intelligent. Her writing is an art and it´s hard to stop reading it (good book to read on Fridays and Saturday nights 😊 – if you can wait, of course). Something else I love about her books: it´s real. The characters are real. The plot is very much possible. And I always learn something from it: yes, there is life wisdom in her books! Another wonderful story! Can´t wait for the next one!

Mel finally gets her book! She's so hard nosed and straight forward in the previous books, I really expected a wild ride or butting heads and back and forth before Mel ever gave in to a relationship with Paco.

I should know better than to try to guess where Freya Barker will take a book. This was a story about two people who recognize the good thing in front of them and enjoy it. I'm not saying there was absolutely no conflict, because that's just not realistic, but they work it out like the two mature adults they are.

Mmmm, what can I say about Paco other than I just adore him! He knows exactly how to handle Mel, at least once he takes his foot out of his mouth. Mel is a little rough around the edges, but she has to be in her profession. Once these two get together though, there is no looking back. And little Mason…gah! Love love love him. I just want to take him home and love him up.

Freya Barker is the absolute queen of reality romance. Her characters aren’t perfect, they have flaws just like every human being. Which is precisely why I devour her books.

Edge Of Reality is Paco and spitfire Melanie's book. These two have been a long time coming and I'm so glad it's their time. Paco has his hands full with this fierce, take no prisoners woman.. This book is filled with suspense, excitement, action and mayhem but there's also love, loyalty, commitment and family. It's a beautiful, heartbreaking, tragic story and is completely consuming. Another incredible addition to this series.

Paco has apparently had a thing for Family Law lawyer Mel for some time. She has helped the Club to manage the legal side of the kids they rescue

A few surprises and some off the wall clients leave some heavy baggage behind.

Can quirky Mel unravel the legal side of things, as well as work on her relationships with her extended biological family - and what about her long time crush on Paco? Is theirs a possible romance? or just food for fantasy?

families built on brotherhood and trust, tangled with dome pain in the butt biological relatives

EDGE OF REALITY is the fifth instalment in Freya Barker’s contemporary, adult ARROW’S EDGE MC erotic, MC, romance series. This is fifty year old, Arrow’s Edge MC member Nathan ‘Paco’ Philips, and forty-eight year old, attorney Melanie ‘Mel’ Morgan’s story line. EDGE OF REALITY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Paco and Mel) EDGE OF REALITY follows the building romance and relationship between fifty year old, Arrow’s Edge MC member Nathan ‘Paco’ Philips, and forty-eight year old, attorney Melanie ‘Mel’ Morgan. Nathan ‘Paco’ Philips has lusted after the MC’s attorney for as long as he can remember. Mel Morgan wants nothing to do with our story line hero but a difficult case finds Mel and her twenty-seven year old, daughter Lindsey on the receiving end of more than one threat, including the destruction of their office, and the fire bombing of Mel’s car. Refusing to leave our heroine alone, Paco declares himself protector of Mel Morgan bringing the MC along for the ride but when a small, six year old child is found frightened and alone, Paco and Mel become guardians to the little boy Mason, guardians that, once again, find themselves a target. What ensues is the slow building romance and relationship between Paco and Mel, and the potential fall-out as desperation and vengeance threaten to destroy them all.

The relationship between Mel and Paco is an unrequited love/ older couple relationship in which Paco has fallen for a stubborn woman who refuses to give him a chance. Having worked with the Arrow’s Edge MC, Mel struggled with the possibility of illegal activities, although the Arrow’s Edge MC no longer travelled that road. Spending most of her time with our story line hero, Mel begins to drop her defences, eventually falling for the man who promised to save her with his life. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting character including Mel’s daughter Lindsey, six year old Mason, Lisa and Brick (Edge of Tomorrow) MC president Ouray and his wife FBI Agent Luna, Tse and Sophia (Edge of Fear); numerous club members MC members Wapi, Kaga and Lea, Trunk, Paco, Honon, and law enforcement Detective Ramirez, Detective Yelinek, FBI SAC Agent Damian Gomez. The requisite evil has many faces.

EDGE OF REALITY is a story of power, abuse and control, betrayal and vengeance, friendships, relationships and family. The premise is gritty and honest; the romance is spicy and moving; the characters are sassy, spirited, and determined.

My favorite Freya Barker book! Of course, I say that about EVERY new Freya Barker book. She never disappoints me...sigh. Mature characters attract me and they abound in her books. Surrounded by heat, humor, action, drama, and suspense, the stories snare my attention and hold me captive until I reach the end. And I wouldn't mind being trapped with Paco (Nathan Phillips).

Like Mel (Melanie Morgan), I might question his interest. Older, gray, and possessing a far-from-twenty firm physique doesn't draw the average male, but Paco admires the whole package. And when it comes with trouble and danger, he (and his brother MCs) step up.

A family lawyer, the most heated Mel's days get involve words across the table wrestling divorce cases. An office break-in ends with her files scattered over her and her assistant's (daughter Lindsey) floors and leaves them puzzling as to the culprit. A dead body soon discovered appears connected to the case as well as a traumatized six-year-old boy found by Paco's MC, Arrow's Edge.

Arrow's Edge runs legitimate businesses as well as operates an unlikely fostering/temporary guardianship program for at-risk boys. More at risk than most, someone wants this boy dead because he may have witnessed his mother's murder. Since she was one of Mel's former clients, everyone works together to keep Mel, Lindsey, and the boy safe while tracking down the killer.

An exceptionally talented author, Freya Barker writes novels with great characters, dialogue, settings, and plots. With no editing issues, confusing POVs, or cliffhanging endings, her books relentlessly capture me until I reach the end. I then suffer while waiting for the new novel, a pain I'll gladly endure again and again.

One night…
I started reading around 9PM and could not put it down. I devoured it in one night. (Of course now I’m exhausted since I’m up for work… and I’ll probably regret my actions even more in a few hours… dang work!)

I absolutely loved this one! We’ve met the majority of these characters in previous stories, but we really got to know them in this one. Mel and Lindsay are the best mother and adult duo! I enjoyed their chemistry and could kinda see me and my mom in them. And Paco is a GREAT alpha male! Who knew he had it in him!

I am very happy this one ended exactly how I hoped it would - EXACTLY! Now I’m anxiously awaiting Lindsay’s story. I have a feeling hers will be even better!

As a side note, I loved ‘seeing’ some of my favorite characters from previous stories. Especially Luna who was her usual sassy self in this one. ;)

The whole series has been brilliant and this book is no exception. Paco is an older biker with lots of life experience. He is great with the Young's kids at the club house but has no children of his own. He has liked Mel for ages but has not found a way to get close to her. Mel was married young and became a single mum who has worked hard for everything she has achieved. Events intervene to force them together and sparks fly. A book full of action, heartbreak, a young victim, a rescue dog, family values, love and romance. Loved it

Freya Barker is the best at drawing you into her stories. Her characters aren't any one special, just regular folks who could be your friends, neighbors, or even family. And her characters have lived. They aren't fresh from college who fall in love with their one and only. Freya's characters have lived, been through births, deaths, divorces, etc etc. She is one of my one click regulars

I so love Mel! I loved her when we first met her and am excited to have gotten her story. Paco turned out to be more than I thought he would. The two of them together is explosive. Great chemistry that Mel fights really hard to admit. Great secondary characters, Lindsey is a shoot, and familiar faces. Lots of action and suspense. HEA and I can’t wait for the next one!

Edge of Reality
Arrow’s Edge MC #5)
By Freya Barker

It’s, as I feared I’ve come to the last book in the Arrow’s Edge series and I already miss them so I guess it’s over to Audible to start the process of listening! Why do I get so involved with my reads? I know, I pick my authors very carefully; I like knowing in advance that I am going to get an A+ five star read (of course there is the odd 4 star read, but I’m ok with that as well).

So, Paco and Mel and OMG this is the perfect couple that is closing out this series.

Paco like most of the men who make up the Arrow’s Edge membership have not lead easy lives, from childhood to adulthood….not easy but when Ouray took over and changed the lives of all the members who stayed each of these men were allowed to shine! They are natural protectors and it is so easy to see why. They work hard, they play hard and they love hard..and Paco is no exception. When he built that house he had someone in mind and I felt like dancing when I saw it was Mel. Hard core, Mel who can stand up to just about anyone, her daughter is probably one of the few who can put Mel in her place!

Mel has also been on retainer to the MC, mostly because her specialty is family law and since taking in abandoned boys and raising and educating them is part and parcel of the successes the MC has had, they know they have a strong legal advocate on their side each time they have to apply for guardianship of a child.

This time around though it is a bit different, a few random links end up not just involving the MC, but Mel and her daughter in and investigation the Durango FBI office has been looking into. No one is safe and a six-year-old Mason may hold the information that is needed to put a cartel member away.

As always…Author Freya Barker gave me one of the best reads with Edge of Reality…I loved how Paco and Mel came together and their natural need to nurture that sweet little boy was a beautiful thing to see.

If you haven’t started this series…..then go and start it now….from Edge of Reason to this book you will be able to count on reading some of the best romantic suspense out there!

Mel and Paco's story is another wonderful entry into the Arrow's Edge MC world!

Mel has been an intriguing character to me based on what I have seen in prior books. She is straightforward, takes no crap from anyone, knows what she wants and doesn't much care if you like it or not. Beneath that somewhat hard exterior is a woman who has a good heart and has had to put up some walls to forge her own path in life. Her family doesn't understand her, but she lives for her daughter Lindsay and lives life her own way.

Paco is a patient man. He wants Mel, and he has been quietly watching and waiting for the right time to take a chance and stake his claim in her life. He understands what makes her tick (mostly) but he has a severe case of foot in mouth syndrome around her in the past that has him at a disadvantage. When danger comes knocking at her door, he takes that leap and finally lets her know where he stands.

I love this MC and the work they do with abandoned or endangered youth, and that plays a big role in this fast paced, action packed story. I have said it before and I will say it again: I also love that the characters in this author's stories are my age, and some of the themes resonate pretty highly with me. Edge of Reality is no exception, and I hated when I had to put it down and step away for any reason. There are some tantalizing glimpses of which Arrow's Edge member may get their story next, and past couples are an ever present part of the story as well making it a wonderful read in my eyes!

I love this unique MC that Freya has created where they do good by the children and work alongside law enforcement to keep everyone safe. The family these brothers have found in one another and club is something many people don't get in life. Her mature characters that know what they want, who aren't afraid to work to get it and the suspense full of many webs always have me ignoring life and flipping pages. Be ready for all your emotions to be on high alert, a cute fluffy pup and a sweet little boy you will just want to wrap in your arms and love on.

Paco was certain that the club life was all he ever wanted and needed. Trying at love in the past but focusing on the wrong woman ended up getting people that were important to him in danger. So he has kept relationships non existent since then. But he is drawn to Mel's natural beauty and her strong vibrant attitude. He has worked hard over the past year to try and make himself the man she might be willing to give a chance. Can he get her to notice him as more than a club brother?

It has been Mel and her daughter against the world for so long, it's hard to remember what it was like to rely on the support of someone to help you through. She pulled her socks up and did what needed to be done to raise Linsday and get her schooling complete, becoming a lawyer. She has the respect of her peers in the community and loves her life the way it is. She isn't looking for more, she doesn't need a relationship.

When things start happening around Mel's clients both current and old, there is a concern for the safety of Mel and her daughter. Paco doesn't think twice when stepping in to help and keep them safe. Will Mel let him take charge or will she continue to push him away? Will the extra time spent together give them the time they need to see they might be missing out? There might just be an opportunity for so much more love and family.

Another highly recommended read by Ms Barker. I do suggest a read through the series though for a better view of these characters.

Paco is part of the Arrow's Edge MC, and quite the man though he does have some awkwardness about him, but I found it charming every time he put his foot in his mouth LOL! Mel is a tough woman who has built a great life for her & her daughter, and she doesn't beat around the bush in any area of her life LOL. She's the MC's lawyer so when trouble comes calling from one of her past clients, the MC has her back, and Paco certainly does as he has a thing for this strong woman. These two are in their forties, so there's not a lot of drama between the two of them as they get closer, which is one of my favorite things about Freya Barker's books since I have no patience for drama these days LOL! There aren't miscommunications because they talk like adults, and if that isn't fantastic enough, the suspenseful undertone of the story kept me on the edge of my seat as I tried to figure everything out. I LOVE this author, this series, and everything in between so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Mel is a divorced family law attorney with a grown daughter and her own law practice.  She is independent, strong and leads a quiet predictable life.  Her daughter works for her as her administrative assistant.  Paco is a seasoned member of the Arrow's Edge MC.  The motorcycle club has been working on the right side of the law for many years.  They currently work to help young kids get off the streets and redirect their anger.  Mel is the family attorney whom they turn to when they need legal advice or representation for and regarding the boys.  Paco is older and set in his ways but he has had his eye on Melanie Morgan for quite awhile now.  When one of Mel's cases puts her in direct danger, will she let Paco protect and support her?

This a great action packed, full of suspense and surprise kind of book. It's definitely a non-putdownable book.  Barker writes a story that sucks you in from the very beginning and carries you through to the end.  She writes wonderful characters with interest and depth.  This is the first book I've read of Barker's but I will definitely be reading more.

So Good!

This is Mel and Paco’s story in the Arrow’s Edge MC series and it is so heartwarmingly good. This MC isn’t in to illegal things, they work with law enforcement and try to help young boys who are out on the streets. Paco has cleaned up his act and has had his eyes set on Mel for quite some time and now is his chance to become more to her. Mel is the club’s lawyer who helps the club especially where these children are concerned. Mel is a very strong woman with a daughter of her own. As things start to happen with Mel its Paco who steps up to Mel and her daughter safe.

I loved this book with all the good “family” feelings, suspense with a little steam thrown in and I have to say that I fell in love with Mason who is one of the boys that they rescued. This was a feel-good book for me.

Readers familiar with the Arrow’s Edge MC books will know Paco and Mel, but especially Paco. I liked him before but loved him by the end of this book. This isn’t a sweet read; it is gut-wrenching, desperately sad, and filled with hope and the future at the same time. As always, Freya Barker’s written characters to whom you can relate, and Mel is awesome. Her courage and determination, with her kindness, make her perfect for Paco. The book is also a heartwarming visit back to the Club itself, with so many of the characters we know and love. And then there’s Mason – and Lyndsey – and Wapi – and no spoilers, sorry! I was genuinely sad when the epilogue started, and I knew it was the end of the book.
