Belgian Barrels Alliance Announces UNESCO Beer Heritage-Inspired NFT Auctions to be launched on Zeromint
RENO, NV | BRUSSELS, BELGIUM — January 01, 2022 — Belgian Barrels Alliance (BBA) a collective of Belgian artisan brewers and farmers ‘where heritage meets innovation’ has announced plans to partner with Zeromint to offer exclusive digital media products in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) minted on the GoChain blockchain.
The BBA is a cooperative between Belgian Brewers and Farmers allowing international beer fans to become a part of Belgian Beer culture. The organization was conceived on the 5th anniversary of the UNESCO recognition for the Belgian beer culture and it runs several projects around sustainability and the preservation of Belgian beer heritage. Several BBA NFT collection projects will be launched in support of Belgian Beer history and culture.
The first Belgian Barrels NFT auction on Zeromint will be centered around the casting of eleven (11) personalized movie roles that allow NFT owners to uniquely participate in the historical “Belgian Barrels” movie (teaser / trailer), which takes place in the 1920’s in authentic ‘Peaky blinders’ style and is “based on a series of true stories”. The aim of the movie project is to further eternalize the Belgian Beer history through a professional cinematic movie production, which BBA plans to promote and distribute globally. The movie is currently already under production and will continue recording throughout 2022 on historical sites around Belgium and in the Boyana movie studio’s in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The 11 lucky NFT winners will be treated as BBA VIP guests while in Europe and join select enthusiasts and aficionados in an once-in-a-lifetime cultural and cinematic experience, while contributing to the externalization and preservation of the legends and near-forgotten history of Belgian beer culture. As members of the Belgian Barrels family, NFT winners will also enjoy lifetime friendship and privileges to include whitelist VIP access to all BBA events and access to vintage beer menus and exclusive bottles at BBA clubs. Eighty percent (80%) of the revenue generated from the NFT auction will go towards a local charity in Belgium.
BBA is also planning for a “Barrel Share” NFT campaign focused on promoting the specialist artisan skill and tradition of ageing beers in wooden barrels, which through the ageing and re-use process results in unique flavors and the production of rare, collectible bottles. NFT winners will have the unique opportunity to share in the ownership of and gain exclusive access to unique vintage Belgium beers from aging, wooden barrels. In addition to benefiting the local environment and habitat, BBA and local brewers ultimately expect the NFTs projects to offer an unique opportunity to deepen the engagement with and reward Belgium beer fans and enthusiasts globally.

Additionally, future Belgian Barrels projects will also include a “Parent a Cherry Tree” NFT campaign that supports the planting and sustainable harvesting of indigenous ‘Schaarbeekse’ cherry trees, which bear unique sour fruits that offer unique flavours and are instrumental in making the world-famous Belgian sour cherry beers. As the ongoing existence of these trees are under threat, the proceeds of the sale will help the Belgian Barrels Alliance to plant new Schaarbeekse cherry trees on protected sites around Brussels. Each NFT will contain an augmented reality (AR) Schaarbeekse tree enabling enthusiasts to interact with and experience their own Schaarbeekse cherry trees in their home or garden.
