Hull FC players have been training with Olympic boxer Frazer Clarke as they continue their preparations for the new Super League season.

Brett Hodgson’s side are currently away on a four-day pre-season training camp at Loughborough University, where they are making the use of some world-class facilities and links.

As part of the camp, the Black and Whites have been working with boxing trainer Angel Fernandez, who is a part of Anthony Joshua’s coaching team and works with a host of highly fancied British fighting prospects.

Fernandez is also training Olympic bronze medalist Clarke ahead of his first professional bout in February and the heavyweight got involved in a session with the FC players earlier today.

In clips posted on FC’s Instagram, Clarke could be seen in the ring going through a sparring drill with Jake Connor and towering prop Kane Evans.

Clarke was coaching the players through the exercise, while the rest of the players were put through their paces in what appeared to be a high intensity circuit around Fernandez’s new gym.

FC will also be working alongside the British Wheelchair basketball team during their time in Leicestershire, as well as taking part in team-building workshops, listening to guest speakers and putting in the work on the training field.

The camp will culminate in a training game against London Broncos, who will head to Loughborough to challenge the Black and Whites with just three weeks to go until the new season gets underway.
